US consulate capturing in Toronto investigated by police in Canada

Canadian police have swarmed the United States consulate in downtown Toronto after it was hit by gunfire.

Photos showed bullet marks on the outside of the building after reports of a shooting at around 5:30 a.m.

In a post on social media, police said they were at the scene near University Avenue and Queen Street West.

“Evidence of a firearm discharge has been located,” police wrote.

No injuries have been reported and no suspect information was immediately released.

Crime scene technicians were seen photographing the bullet markings on the building as the investigation was underway.

The shooting comes after two Toronto-area synagogues were struck by gunfire last weekend.

The U.S. has also faced criticism for its war with Iran with protests worldwide calling for an end to President Donald Trump’s attacks on the country.
