Emergency services including police and ambulance have rushed to a high school in Norfolk after a female student was stabbed. Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection.
There are reports students at Thorpe St Andrew School on Laundry Lane, near Norwich, are under lockdown conditions. Norfolk Police said a teenage girl suffered minor injuries in a stabbing at a school near Norwich. The girl is believed to have been rushed to hospital following the incident.
A Norfolk Police spokesperson said it was called at about 10:24 GMT and a 16-year-old boy has now been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He has been taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
Laundry Lane has been closed, police said A police spokesperson said: “This incident is not believed to be linked to a hate crime reported at the same school last week.”
Parents writing on a Norfolk Police post on Facebook say parents have had limited information and they are concerned for the safety of their children.
The East of England Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
