Peter Mandelson requested a payout of more than £500,000 after he was sacked by Keir Starmer as US ambassador over his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
Files released by the Government relating to his appointment show the peer was handed a £70,000 payment. However the document states: “Negotiations began with a request by the individual to pay out the remainder of the 4- year salary costs of the fixed term appointment. This would have amounted to £547,201.”
