Majborough takes centre stage on Wednesday at Cheltenham in the Champion Chase, and Sky Bet are offering new customers a brilliant 60/1 enhanced odds deal for him to finish in the top three!

Majborough is the commanding odds-on favourite with the bookmakers for the headline race on Day Two of the Cheltenham Festival – and it’s straightforward to understand why. Jockey Mark Walsh and owner JP McManus have already tasted triumph at this year’s Festival, boosting the belief behind this Willie Mullins-trained six year old.

Majborough has triumphed in four of his seven outings over fences and could solidify his reputation as the next chasing sensation with merely eight runs in the discipline. He was a commanding victor last time out, cruising home by 19 lengths from Marine Nationale at the Dublin Racing Festival.

Last year, he was a narrow third in the Arkle as the 1/2 favourite, finishing just three-quarters of a length behind the victor.

The Queen Mother Champion Chase on day two of Cheltenham could hinge on Majborough’s jumping. He possesses the finest form but has made errors previously, though he appeared much enhanced with cheekpieces when comfortably defeating Marine Nationale at Leopardstown.

If he negotiates the obstacles cleanly, he’ll be difficult to overcome.

Il Etait Temps is second best on ratings but tumbled last time and competes without his customary hood. L’Eau du Sud performs well fresh and captured the Shloer Chase here in November, making him a reliable place prospect.

Quilixios hasn’t competed for a year but was probably second in this race last year before tumbling. Found A Fifty defeated Majborough earlier in the season but has battled since.

The remainder, including Saint Segal, Libberty Hunter, Irish Panther, Captain Guinness, and Brookie, have plenty to prove.
