A mum has spoken out after her children said they witnessed a man allegedly performing an indecent act outside a chip shop in College Road, Kingstanding, Brum
A mother has expressed her disbelief after her children told her they saw a man with his trousers down engaging in an inappropriate act outside a local chip shop.
A man was spotted with “one arm on his car and his other hand touching himself” on Monday March 9. The mum’s 15-year-old daughter and 21-year-old son claimed they witnessed him propped against his motor “completely exposing himself” at approximately 6.30pm. The mother revealed when he noticed her children glancing over he muttered something to himself about being diabetic and “having to do it”.
The 39-year-old mother, who asked not to be named, said: “My 15-year-old daughter and son were going to the to the chip shop in College Road.” She added: “When they went there was a man leaning against a car, standing looking at the road, masturbating himself,” reports Birmingham Live.
“The car was parked outside the chippy where there’s a bit of waste ground. A lot of people park there.” The mother expanded on the details which allegedly occurred on College Road, Kingstanding in Birmingham. She added: “The car was facing the chippy and he had his car door open. He said: ‘I have got to do this. I am diabetic’.”
“Both my kids are autistic and didn’t understand. My daughter then searched it on her phone. I’m just shocked. It’s not what you expect when you go to the chip shop. Somebody was bound to see him.”
She added: “There are two schools near there, North Birmingham Academy and Hawthorn Primary.
“It had just gone 6pm in the evening… The police came out and spoke to both of my kids. They have also been in the chippy shop to ask for their CCTV. It does make me think what if my daughter had gone on her own what would have happened.”
The concerned mum took to social media to alert others, urging: “Please be mindful if your kids are around that general area of an evening.”
She mentioned that her children had provided a description of the man, reports Birmingham Live. A representative for West Midlands Police stated: “We are investigating a report of exposure on College Road, Kingstanding, around 6pm on Monday, March 9.
“Officers are following a number of enquiries and remain in contact with the person who reported this. Anyone with information should call us on 101 or speak to us via Live Chat on our website, quoting crime reference 20/173450/26.”
