West Yorkshire Police share CCTV of ram raid at a motorcycle shop

Seven thieves made off with £80,000 worth of bikes after ram-raiding a motorcycle shop with a can. The brazen masked gang were seen loading nine motocross bikes on the back of a white Luton van in CCTV footage.

Shocking video shows the moment the gang arrive at Colin Appleyard Motorcycles in Keighley, West Yorkshire, just after midnight on Wednesday morning. A white Nissan Juke is seen ramming the entrance before the rest arrive in the van.

One of the gang is then seen cutting through the entrance with an angle grinder before the hooded men start piling into the store. Cops believe the bikes are now being flogged on social media.

They are then seen wheeling out bikes through the door before taking them outside the Luton van. Footage shows the gang lifting the bikes on to the back of the van and loading them on.

At one point, all seven men scramble to load the final three bikes onto the van as they sheepishly check the road for any traffic.

West Yorkshire Police said the gang made off towards Park Lane in the former mill town. The force issued CCTV images of the incident and urged anyone with information to get in touch.

Detective chief inspector Mark Atkinson said: “Extensive enquiries including CCTV are underway to track down the people responsible.

“The CCTV shows the offence taking place. If anyone recognises the suspects in the images, please come forward and provide information. We are also keen to speak to anyone who might have seen these bikes up for sale on marketplaces on social media.”

The store also shared the footage on social media and appealed for information. They wrote: “Last night we were the victims of a Ram Raid, As you can see from the footage 8 New Husqvarna Enduro/Motocross bikes was taken along with a used bike.

“We would like to thank the Staff for helping to secure the building over night and also work tirelessly to move all the off-road bikes off the premises, big thanks to the local businesses and tradesman that dropped everything to help make the site secure.

“Police are investigating and have taken finger and foot prints, Husqvarna dealer net updated with stolen vin numbers and all new bikes weren’t pdi’d (pre-delivery inspection). Lost for words to be honest as we absolutely live and breath this place.”
