A dad has vowed to flee his own home because of an angry ghost that is terrifying him and torturing him on the daily.
Willow Hunter has only lived in the flat for seven months but said “enough is enough” after the gruesome ghoul turned up his scaring anther notch. He says he has caught a string of ‘paranormal activity’ on camera – including doors slamming and toys moving on their own and it is freaking him out.
Willow says he began noticing strange happenings after moving into his new flat around seven months ago. The 31-year-old claims doors were opening and closing by themselves, but put the eerie incidents down to a draft travelling through his house.
But when the dad-of-two’s cat Kari began refusing to go downstairs, Willow set up CCTV in his living room to see if he could catch any unusual occurrences on camera.
Chilling footage shows Willow’s daughter happily playing on the floor when one of her toys begins slowly wheeling out of shot and a skateboard clatters to the ground. Moments later, Willow said his terrified daughter ran upstairs to tell her dad that ‘someone was in the room with her’.
Other videos show the living room door suddenly opening and closing, including one recording that captured a teddy bear falling to the ground seconds before the door forcibly opens.
Willow, who works as a video game developer, described the activity as ‘freaky’ and insists he gets ‘bad vibes’ from the supposed presence haunting his home. The dad, who previously did not believe in the paranormal, said the mysterious incidents have even led him to start looking for another home.
Willow, who lives in Settle, North Yorkshire, said: “I’ve never really been a big believer in the paranormal, I try to be a bit more logical about things.
“But it’s hard to rationalise some of the things that have been going on. I noticed a few weird things started happening like doors opening and closing by themselves, but I just tried to rationalise everything. I put it down to a draft. I just thought there was a reason behind it.
“Then more recently weird things started happening like cupboard doors opening. It’s only been recently that I’ve been getting a bit freaked out.”
Willow decided to start recording some of the unusual goings-on in his home around two months ago, and began capturing footage of toys moving on their own and doors unexpectedly opening and closing.
Willow said: “Nothing that extreme had been going on. Then my cat Kari began acting really strange about going downstairs.
“My daughter was playing downstairs and said there was someone else in the room with her and I couldn’t really get much more out of her. [I looked at the footage of the toy moving on its own] and it was a bit freaky. It’s an old building so I guess the building could be on a slant.
“My skateboard was just falling down randomly. It wasn’t falling down like that before then just started doing it a lot. I’ve heard quite a lot of banging. Stuff is having every other day. It died down for about a month around the time I got CCTV then it picked back up.”
Willow claims the ‘paranormal’ happenings are ‘sucking the energy’ out of him, and says he now sleeps up to 18 hours a day. The dad said he’s planning on purchasing a ouija board to make contact with the ‘presence’.
Willow said: “What’s been happening has made me more open to believing. It seems like my flat is haunted but I don’t know what I believe. It’s definitely making me question things.
“It’s definitely paranormal. I get bad vibes from it. There is something in this flat that just feels like it’s sucking the energy out of me. I just feel tired all the time now. I end up sleeping for 18 hours in a go, the past few weeks it’s got really bad.
“It appears to be to do with what’s happening, but I don’t want to sound crazy.
“I’m trying to move out partly because of this and the high rent. It’s definitely making me want to get the ball rolling faster.
“I’ve been thinking for a long time about doing a ouija board but I have so many people telling me not to. It’s something I’m planning on doing.”
