A relatively unknown British chef has revealed his Oscars afterparty menu which draws a line of 400 A-listers to his stall.
Ahead of the ceremony at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday, Elliott Grover has given a behind-the-scenes insight into what the biggest stars of Hollywood will tuck into – and how some stars come for third helpings of his famous fish and chips after finally abandoning their strict awards show diet.
Elliott, who is the executive chef at Cut at 45 Park Lane, has been catering at the Academy Awards since 2023 and it will be his fourth year at the Governors Ball – a famous afterparty which sees 1,500 guests attend.
He told The Times: ‘I host a British kitchen, next to where the golden statuettes are engraved in front of the winners. I meet all the stars from Lady Gaga to Billie Eilish. It’s madness – the queue for my fish and chips has stretched to 400 people.’
Elliott continued: ‘People come back for second and thirds. If I have time to look at the queue it’s a who’s who of Hollywood. Brendan Fraser, Michelle Yeoh, Christopher Nolan put down his two Oppenheimer awards on my stand to eat my beef wellington.
On the menu this year is the quintessentially British meal as well as beef wellington and sherry trifle.

For the first time, Elliott is experimenting with a coronation chicken Scotch egg and is insistent he won’t cater to Hollywood health fads.
He said: ‘There’s another table for vegan sushi, so if you don’t like my food, go over there. One lovely lady – a well-known reality TV star – was cramming food in her mouth. She told me she hadn’t eaten properly for weeks, to fit into her dress’.
Elliott was asked to create a British spread by renowned chef Wolfgang Puck, who has hosted the Governors Balls for over 30 years.
The day starts at 7am, with security strict around the venue.
Elliott has already prepared most of the food but still feels the pressure to roast 35 beef sirloins that need to come out perfectly pink in the middle, but there is only one oven.
The chef then heads to the ballroom where the official after-show celebrations were held.
For the 98th Academy Awards Conan O’Brien, 62, is returning to host the show for the second consecutive year after taking over the role from Jimmy Kimmel.
Ryan Coogler’s Sinners leads with a record-breaking 16 nominations, the most for any film in Academy Awards history.
