Three lacking fishermen discovered useless off South Australia coast after they did not return residence

Three missing fishermen have been found dead in waters off South Australia‘s south-east coast after a search was launched when they failed to return to shore.

The alarm was raised about 2.30pm on Sunday, March 15, when the three men did not come back from a fishing trip near Beachport.

Police immediately launched a large-scale search of the area, assisted by Water Operations officers, PolAir, the State Emergency Service, aerial drones and local boaties.

The bodies of the three men, aged 64, 67 and 74, were later located and recovered. All three were from New South Wales.

Beachport, on the Limestone Coast, is a popular fishing destination.
