UK is simply ‘one misfired missile’ away from World War 3 after large Keir Starmer mistake

EXCLUSIVE: The Daily Star had a chat with Google’s artificial intelligence-powered large language model called Gemini to find out just how close we are to World War 3

The UK has, so far, avoided getting fully involved in what appears to be World War 3. Despite calls from Donald Trump for Keir Starmer to don some weapons and tell the troops to go to war and help him out, the Prime Minister has tended to shy away from it all.

Since Trump and Israel first took action against Iran, Starmer has been steadfast on the fact that the only action the United Kingdom would be involved is was “defensive,” with zero offensive actions being taken.

But, having had a chat with Google’s artificial intelligence-powered large language model called Gemini (the pro version) it turns out that this decision could actually be Keir Starmer’s downfall . . . and lead the UK down the path he has been trying to avoid.

Gemini explained how the “risk of miscalculation” in assuming that the war-mad leaders of Iran (dead or alive) know the difference between defensive and offensive.

It said: “The danger here is that adversaries do not always respect the political nuance between ‘defensive’ and ‘offensive’ enabling. Iranian missiles have already landed dangerously close to British troops in Iraq and bases in Cyprus (such as RAF Akrotiri).

“If a UK base or a significant number of British personnel are directly hit, the UK could be rapidly forced to transition from defensive interceptions to direct, offensive military action.

“The chances of the UK being dragged into a wider conflict rely almost entirely on containment. “The UK government is currently trying to isolate these fires – acting as a shield in the Middle East while trying to hold a firm line of deterrence in Europe.

“However, because the UK is a crucial military enabler for the US, a leading power in Europe, and geographically situated to defend the Atlantic, it is highly exposed.

“A single misfired missile hitting a British base in Cyprus, a naval clash in the Strait of Hormuz, or a border skirmish in Eastern Europe could be the spark that pulls Britain from a posture of ‘defensive readiness’ into an active, large-scale war.”

And Iran, it warned, might not be the only cause of the UK being dragged kicking and screaming (passively) into WW3.

If Russia were to miscalculate, it said, and probe the borders of a NATO ally in Eastern or Northern Europe, the UK would be “bound by Article 5 of the NATO treaty to respond with military force”.

This would, it explained, basically lead to WW3 . . . but not quite in the way you might think.

“It is also worth noting that in 2026, the definition of “war” has changed,” it said.

“We are already engaged in what security experts call a geopolitical ‘perma-crisis’ or hybrid war. Britain is currently dealing with state-backed cyberattacks, sabotage, and economic coercion from hostile states.

‌”The economic consequences of these global conflicts are already hitting British shores. Spiking oil and gas prices due to the Middle East crisis are heavily impacting the UK’s cost of living and pushing vital industries, like steel and chemicals, to the brink.”
