Vladimir Putin’s preferred TV weatherman has been peppering his state television forecasts with predictions of ideal conditions for a nuclear attack on Britain and Europe.
Yevgeny Tishkovets is a meteorologist who spent 20 years in the Russian army, eventually achieving the rank of lieutenant-colonel. Recently, he advocated for a missile strike on Farnborough in Hampshire, based on prevailing weather patterns.
In one forecast, he informed viewers spanning Russia’s 11 time zones: “By the way, the wind pattern today is favourable for the use of a full range of weapons, including even low-yield nuclear weapons.
“Because the wind in the lower troposphere is currently blowing strictly east-west. From a height of one and a half to five kilometres [4,922ft to 16,404ft], east to west.”

He enthusiastically explained to Russians that this would maximise radiation across the European continent.
“Any radiation, any clouds, and so on-everything associated with [a nuclear explosion]-will be blown in a clear, broad direction toward European countries.”
In another forecast, he criticised recent Ukrainian strikes using British-French cruise missiles on Bryansk, a city near Russia’s border.
The attack caused significant damage to Putin’s military infrastructure by disabling a microelectronics plant that supplies key components to various Russian missiles.
The pro-Putin weatherman-propagandist ranted: “After the bloody strike of the Ukrainian Nazis against the centre of our dear Bryansk, I’m simply begging our Defence Ministry to carry out missile strikes and destroy factories [in the West].
“For example, in the French commune Le Plessis-Robinson [the site of MBDA’s HQ] in the suburbs of Paris.

“Or the English [town] Farnborough near London, where these stealth long-range missiles are made, the Storm Shadows. With the destruction of personnel.”
Tishkovets, 51, was featuring on the propagandist Solovyov LiveTV channel.
This is officially owned by leading Putin propagandist Vladimir Solovyov but is transmitted via VGTRK – the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.
The channel supplanted Euronews on their frequencies in April 2022, following the commencement of Putin’s illegal war in Ukraine.
Raging pundit Solovyov, decorated by Putin, is amongst the Russian media’s most highly paid Kremlin mouthpieces, yet opted to educate some of his children in Britain.
