Community Fibre offers speeds up to a mega 5Gbps.

Homeowners can avoid the upcoming price increase to be imposed by many broadband providers with a rival deal at a set price. It comes from London-based brand Community Fibre, where a limited-time deal offers fibre broadband with prices locked for two years.

Community Fibre touts itself as the capital’s ‘best full fibre broadband provider’, with its 24-month contracts delivering speeds up to 5Gbps. Monthly prices start at £19 for 100Mbps, with one standout deal offering 2.5Gbps for £27 (was £39) – a discount of £310 over the life of the contract.

It comes as many broadband providers are set to increase their prices from April, when customers of BT and Virgin Media will see their monthly bills rise by £4. Similarly, Sky has confirmed its broadband prices will rise by £3 each month.

Community Fibre has confirmed that customers on its 24-month broadband contracts will benefit from no bill hikes this year, as prices are fixed until April 2027. However, customers opting for the £27 2.5Gbps Full Fibre Broadband plan will have their prices fixed for the entire 24-month contract.

This means bills will stay the same until 2028, but the deal is due to expire at 11.59pm on April 7. One downside is that prices will rise to the usual, non-discounted rate of £39 at the end of the contract, but customers are free to cancel at this time.

Community Fibre lets customers avoid price hikes until 2027 or 2028 depending on the chosen speeds, which go up to a mega 5Gbps.

Customers on Community Fibre’s other 24-month contracts will see their bills rise by £2 from April 2027. It comes as giffgaff launches a rival broadband service with prices locked for 24-months.

A caveat is that its speeds are capped at 900Mbps, slower than select Community Fibre plans. The latter claims it serves 1.3 million homes across London, with customers able to use its postcode checker to ensure it’s available in their area.

Community Fibre customers have left thousands of positive reviews on Trustpilot, where it holds a 4.7-star rating after more than 83,000 reviews. Of these, 90% of customers awarded it a perfect five stars.

One says: “All great, perfect installation. Half the price of Virgin and 20 times the speed – we actually get faster then advertised.”

Another says: “Great price and service. I’ve been a highly satisfied customer for two years due to the great price, good speeds, and excellent customer service.”

This Community Fibre customer was happy overall but deducted a star from their review, saying: “Engineers were lovely, came when they said they would and were very quick. Speeds seem good most of the time, but slower in the evenings, but perhaps to be expected.”

Nevertheless, this five-star review says: Fantastic wifi and great customer service. Affordable and fast wifi, no issues or throttling in the year we’ve been with them.”
