A pair of darts commentators have been left confused at the actions of one star during the German Darts Open over the weekend
A darts star left commentators scratching their heads over the weekend following his actions at the Euro Tour in Germany.
Dirk van Duijvenbode was in a toe-to-toe clash with former World Grand Prix winner Mike De Decker, when the Dutch thrower failed to nail 90. Big Dirk fluffed his lines on D18 – and in reaction swung up his leg and caught it in midair.
He stayed there for a second, confusing De Decker, fans and the commentators. However, The Titan wasn’t finished extended his arms and holding his hamstring in the strange moment that went viral on social media.

“Hang on, what’s gone on there,” the commentator said. “It’s like Inspector Gadget, his leg appeared out of nowhere.” While the second added: “Go, go gadget legs. I didn’t know he was a ballet dancer.”
He was quick to poke fun at himself too, changing his profile picture on X to an edited version that shows the the Dutch thrower wearing a ballet outfit.
“And people say darts players aren’t athletic,” one fan joked in response to the profile pic swap. A second said: “Jeez it was Funny, but have some respect for the players…”
And another added: “If he wins the title this has to stay as his profile pic forever, I don’t make the rules!”
Sadly, Big Dirk didn’t take home the title, and he was beaten by Kevin Doets once the matches got back underway on Monday. It was a narrow win for his countryman, who dumped out the Titan 6-5.
It’s the fourth Euro Tour event of the season, but it has been overshadowed for UK based players, who have been left livid at the queues heading into mainland Europe.
