Shopper ‘walks into homeware retailer’ and ‘poos on shelf’ earlier than leaving the scene

Thames Valley Police has released CCTV footage showing a woman the force wishes to speak to after a shopper allegedly did a poo on a furniture shop shelf last month

A shopper allegedly walked into a homeware store and had a poo on a shelf. Police have now released CCTV footage of a woman they want to speak to.

The alleged incident happened in a branch of The Rangers in Banbury, Oxfordshire on March 25 at 1.40pm. Police said the suspect is then believed to have left the scene. Thames Valley Police has released footage of a woman they are looking to talk to.

Investigating officer PC Robert Watson said: “We’re looking to identify the individual in this CCTV image, as we believe they may have information that could help our investigation.”

The police force has urged anyone with information to come forward by calling, visiting their website or by reporting anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers.

A spokesperson added: “Thames Valley Police is releasing a CCTV image of an individual that officers would like to speak to in connection with criminal damage in Banbury. On Wednesday 25 March, at 1.40pm at The Range in Banbury, an offender has defecated on a shelf. They have then left the store.”

CCTV shows a woman wearing a spotted scarf, pink jacket and red top wheeling a small suitcase. The Range sells homeware as well as a range of garden furniture.
