Shamed Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor could be hauled “dragging and screaming” out of his current Norfolk bolthole, a royal expert has claimed. The former Duke of York was booted out of his sprawling 30-room, £30 million Royal Lodge estate in Berkshire back in February.

His reputation remains in tatters following his association with billionaire paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. The discredited ex-royal has since been forced to downsize, taking up residence at the more modest Wood Farm on the Sandringham estate.

He is currently using the property as a temporary base while his intended permanent home, the nearby Marsh Farm, undergoes extensive renovations.

Despite his fall from grace, Andrew, who continues to maintain his innocence regarding any misconduct, was scheduled to move into his new digs around Easter.

However, with the deadline fast approaching, royal watchers have hinted that he might be planning a sit-in. Royal biographer Robert Jobson said the “quite nice” Marsh Farm property has been “wrecked.”

He further claimed that Andrew was removed “dragging and screaming” from his previous home, suggesting a repeat performance could be on the cards if he refuses to budge from his current quarters.

Jobson said: “It’s been wrecked. I mean, the poor place looked quite nice before. Now with this lump of this sort of Peaky Blinders caravan on the side of it, it’s just dreadful.”

He added: “This was quite a nice sort of country home. It’s just awful now. It just seems crazy to me what’s been going on.”

Matt Wilkinson, The Sun’s Royal editor, suggested that Andrew was “dragging his heels” and questioned whether he was “getting comfortable” in his latest accommodation. Jobson said he would need to be forcibly removed.

He went on to tell the outlet’s Royal Exclusive on YouTube: “I think it’d be the same at Wood Farm. If he could stay at Wood Farm and put his security and staff up in the other place, I’m sure that’s what he’d prefer.”

It follows Andrew being detained on suspicion of misconduct in public office by Thames Valley Police on his 66th birthday in February, before he was later released pending further enquiries.

Meanwhile, claims have surfaced that the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Prince Edward and Sophie, were forced into a “holiday let” during their Easter getaway at Sandringham because Andrew supposedly refused to leave Wood Farm.

Edward and Sophie, who allegedly wished to stay in the property currently occupied by Andrew, were forced to lodge at Sandringham’s Gardens House.

A source revealed to The Sun: “Andrew was evicted from Royal Lodge at Windsor but now has two homes at his disposal. He is just going back and forth between Wood Farm and Marsh Farm. It’s got to be sorted as Edward and Sophie like to use Wood Farm.”
