A teacher has died after a student allegedly attacked her at the school gates. The schoolboy suspected of wounding and killing the male teacher was reportedly held back a year several times and was already known to the police in Russia.
The Perm Krai Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into the schoolboy’s attack on a teacher in the city of Dobryanka. The agency’s press service reported the incident on Tuesday, April 7.
“During the oversight activities, compliance with legislation on the prevention of child neglect and juvenile delinquency will be assessed. The criminal investigation into this incident will also be monitored,” the publication states.

The teacher in question is Olesya Baguta, a Russian language and literature teacher at School No. 5. Regional Governor Dmitry Makhonin said: “Unfortunately, despite all the doctors’ efforts… she could not be saved.” He expressed his condolences to the deceased’s family, friends and colleagues.
Governor Makhonin said a teenager stabbed a teacher at the entrance to a school in Dobryanka, Perm. The teacher was rushed to hospital but has since died. An air ambulance helicopter from the regional capital was dispatched to the scene.
City prosecutor Dmitry Kopyev is currently at the scene of the attack. The schoolboy has been arrested.
The teenager suspect of the attack is said to have a police record and had repeatedly repeated a year. The school decided not to suspend classes following the horrifying incident.
It comes after a suspect who raided a nursery in Uganda killed four children with a machete after posing as a parent to enter the school.
Police have confirmed that four children, a girl and three boys, were “brutally stabbed and killed” at a school in the Ugandan capital, Kampala. A 34-year-old suspect has been detained but “the motive behind the killings is still under investigation”, Uganda’s police force added in a brief statement on X. A local journalist members of the public had tried to lynch him before the police made the arrest.
The horrifying incident unfolded at the Ggaba Early Childhood Development Program School in the capital’s Makindye Division.
The local Daily Monitor newspaper said a man has posed as a parent to enter the school. “Eyewitnesses say the suspect disguised himself as a parent and first entered the school offices, where he briefly engaged with the administrator in charge,” it said.
“He later stepped outside, locked the gate, and began attacking the children one after another.”
Police spokesman Kituuma Rusoke said at least four children were killed in the attack, aged between two and three. Investigators are at the scene and a police spokesperson said more details would be provided later.
