Never mind the b***ocks – British blokes use a string of other slang terms when it comes to their crown jewels.
The top 10 names for testicles have been revealed, with balls claiming top spot. Other favourite terms include nuts, plums, knackers and stones.
The research comes as the OddBalls Foundation encourages men to talk about our two veg more for Testicular Cancer Awareness Month.
It said the study showed gents are more likely to joke about their bits and avoid serious chats about health. Researchers found only 41% of fellas would feel comfortable talking about testicular health in everyday conversation.
Four in 10 British male adults said they were completely unaware of the key symptoms of testicular cancer and wouldn’t know what to look out for.
And more than half – 53% – admitted that they rarely, if ever, check themselves and 68% said fear and embarrassment might stop them from consulting a GP immediately if they were to find an abnormality.
OddBalls Foundation managing director Kieran Kelly said: “Each year in the UK, more than 2,000 men are diagnosed with testicular cancer.
“Caught early, it’s highly treatable – yet our research suggests many men still don’t check themselves properly. Our campaign aims to spark a national conversation — and save lives — by using humour to tackle a topic many men still avoid.
“Britain protects its Crown Jewels with armed guards and bulletproof glass – we’re just asking men to give theirs 30 seconds of attention in the shower – it could be lifesaving.”
As part of their awareness campaign, OddBalls have had their own cheeky version of jewel-encrusted ‘Crown Jewels’ made and are taking them on tour around the country.
Made from more than 500 diamond-cut stones, the handcrafted sculpture is designed to stop people in their tracks and get them talking.
