Kevin Hart was heard shouting: “I am not a star,” as he caddied for Bryson DeChambeau at the Masters on Wednesday evening.

The Hollywood A-lister traded the silver screen for the greens and fairways of Augusta National, serving as DeChambeau’s right-hand man for the par three contest.

And in a bizarre interview with Sky Sports during the tournament, Hart was eager to clarify his intentions. When questioned about his crucial role, the comic declared: “To be the best caddie that’s ever caddied.

“Guys I am not Kevin Hart the global superstar today. Please get that out of your mental. Not the movie star, the stand-up comedian that everybody knows around the world – throw it in the bag. Today I am Bryson’s caddie.”

As the reporter then switched to DeChambeau to discuss how the pair joined forces, Hart was spotted turning to the greenside crowd and shouting: “I am not a star,” while throwing his hands into the air.

Discussing their partnership, DeChambeau then revealed: “We’ve been talking a lot about golf, he’s gotten into it over the past seven months. And he’s become a superstar in his own right on the greens by the way.”

When questioned if he would sink some putts for DeChambeau, Hart then responded: “You know, we’ll see how the day goes. I think it depends on how he’s putting. Naturally if he’s not doing what I ask or require then I step in and I do the job myself.”

Describing Hart as a “really good caddie,” DeChambeau also revealed that the pair first encountered each other while filming a video together before offering him the privilege of caddying for Wednesday’s competition. When asked about his experience of Augusta National, Hart then added: “First and foremost, it’s history right?

“And by history, I’m talking about the game now having a Kevin Hart that is adjacent to the level of what we’re seeing here today. I am bit by the bug, and I’m bit bad. So me being able to be here, experience this, the fans, really be attached to pros like Bryson and the rest of the phenomenal group there, it’s an amazing experience and I’m really thankful to be a part of it.

“But today, we do have a focus, it’s to get the job done. I’m here to make sure my guy is prepared, to do what he does best and win.”
