Sometimes you just need to sit back, relax and enjoy some much-needed time with your friends. We found a charming London cafe that helps you switch off and do just that.

Situated in Royal Wharf, BonBon Pottery is a little slice of heaven away from the hustle and bustle of city life. From the moment we walked in, there was an instant calm energy about the place and the welcoming staff were eager to help out in any way they could, their smiles never wavering.

The walls are lined with all kinds of pottery pieces just waiting to be painted – choose from bird feeders, teapots, plates and coasters, as well as adorable figurines in the shape of any animal you can think of.

We went for two picture frames and a cat bowl to brighten up our home, the perfect way to add a personal touch to our living space, then we got down to business.

Pencils, paints, water and brushes are all provided so we wasted no time conjuring up our designs. We began in total silence as we concentrated, but eventually began to chat and the vibes are so relaxed that our conversations almost turned into a therapy session!

We had so much fun drawing, painting and yapping away as BonBon’s gentle playlist played in the background, the perfect way to unwind after a long week at work. Phones on silent and laptops safely at home, we spent the hour catching up, talking about our futures and our dreams for the year ahead.

Once our slot (sadly) came to an end, the ever-smiley staff took our pieces to fire them in the kiln, the last step of the process before they’re complete and ready to pick up another day.

BonBon pottery is the perfect activity for anyone looking to get their creative juices flowing, for a girly catch-up or even a group bonding session and if you get peckish, they even have a full food and drinks menu to satisfy every craving.

They have three studios across London situated in Battersea Power Station, Royal Wharf and Notting Hill, with a third branch opening in Kingston very soon!
