A devastated superfan has vowed she will never stop loving Scott Mills even after his shock BBC axe and a past scandal rocked his career.

Yolande May, 56, a former warehouse worker who is currently out of work and lives in Norfolk, has spent more than £5,000 creating a shrine to the radio favourite. Her home has been transformed into a full-blown tribute, plastered with posters, cardboard cut-outs, custom T-shirts, badges and bags dedicated to the star.

“He used to wake me up every morning at 6:30,” Yolande teared up. “Now there’s a huge void in my life. I don’t know if I can carry on. It feels like a bad dream. I keep thinking, is this real? I’ve lost my appetite and I’m not eating properly, and I’m not sleeping properly either.”

The devoted fan said she was left in total disbelief when she first heard the news. “I kept checking social media and pinching myself to see if I was dreaming,” she said. “I just couldn’t get my head around it. It’s like a big chunk has been taken out of my life.”

Yolande insists nothing – not even the historic allegations investigated by the Metropolitan Police in 2016 – will shake her loyalty. The probe, which looked into claims of sexual offences against a teenage boy under 16 between 1997 and 2000, was closed in 2019 when prosecutors decided there was insufficient evidence to bring charges.

“I’m so angry at the BBC for what they’ve done,” Yolande fumed. “He’s worked all his life to build his career and now they’ve just thrown him away. I just love him, no matter what – nothing would ever make me stop being his number one fan.”

Her “Scott Mills cave” covers every corner of her home. “My lounge, my kitchen diner and my bedroom – even my ceiling – is plastered with him,” she revealed. “I speak to the cardboard cut-outs every day. I even have a cuddly toy version of Scott that I cuddle in bed every night and give a little smooch.”

Yolande says her love for Scott has helped her through tough times in the past, including a serious road accident. “I just kept thinking of him in hospital and it helped pull me through,” she said.

She also worries deeply about the star’s wellbeing. “I hope he’s okay. I know he has a strong support network around him with family and friends, but I still worry he might be in a low place. I just want him to be happy.”

Her devotion extends to her personal life too. “I’ve been divorced six years and have no interest in other men – just my fantasy life with Scott. He is the number one man in my life,” she said.

The mum-of-one shares her home with her 20-year-old son, who she says fully supports her passion. “He just says as long as it makes me happy, that’s all that matters,” she smiled.

Through tears, Yolande added: “It’s broken my heart. I’m crying myself to sleep. But I’ll always defend him. I don’t believe any of it – I just can’t picture it. I just really, really want to meet him one day.”
