A racing tipster who pulled off an extraordinary Cheltenham Festival lucky 15 has shared his picks for the 2026 Grand National.
Attention turns to Aintree as the most famous steeplechase in the world takes centre stage. In the lead-up to the event, Racing TV expert Tom Stanley has revealed his final picks.
Stanley has drawn strong interest from punters after an outstanding display at last month’s Cheltenham Festival, where he correctly predicted a four-horse lucky 15 across some of the week’s toughest handicap contests.

For today’s long-distance test over the iconic fences, Stanley has selected four runners: Jagwar, Grangeclare West, Favori Du Champdou and Quai De Bourbon.
“The top two are the same, Jagwar and Grangeclare West,” Stanley said on The Paddock. “Grangeclare West has got to be there. Favori Du Champdou, I think he’ll run really well for Gordon [Elliott], and Quai De Bourbon, I think will run a big race.”
Jagwar’s presence is especially noteworthy. After finishing a gallant second in the Ultima Handicap Chase at Cheltenham, the horse has clearly demonstrated both the stamina and jumping ability needed for the Grand National.
Much of the buzz around Stanley’s selections comes from his exceptional form at Cheltenham. He successfully put together a four-pick accumulator made up entirely of handicap runners, which are commonly seen as the hardest races to call because of equalised weights and large fields aimed at creating a level contest.
The successful run at Cheltenham started with Saratoga, who claimed victory in the Juvenile Handicap Hurdle at odds of 10/1. That win was followed by Jingko Blue, who landed the Coral Cup at 9/2.
The streak carried on with Meetmebythesea, a 9/1 winner in the Novices’ Handicap Chase, before being capped off by Supremely West, who delivered on market expectations at 10/3 in the Pertemps Network Final.
A £15 bet on that exact combination produced a total payout of £4,500.
Winning even one handicap at the Cheltenham Festival is viewed as a notable accomplishment for any pundit but successfully picking four within the same week is an uncommon achievement in sports betting.
With the 2026 Grand National drawing closer, many will be keen to see whether Stanley’s knack for spotting value in high-traffic handicap races carries over to the unique challenge of the Aintree fences.
