A teenager has been brought before the court accused of murdering a 14-year-old lad who was fatally shot in south-east London.
Eghosa Ogbebor met his tragic end on Lord Warwick Street, Woolwich. The police were summoned to the scene around 3.40pm on April 2 following reports of gunfire.
On Saturday, a 16-year-old lad from Romford, east London, was presented at Thames Magistrates’ Court where he was sent to youth detention accommodation ahead of his next appearance at the Old Bailey on Tuesday. The teenager, whose identity is protected by law, was arrested on April 4 and subsequently released on bail, according to the police.
He was taken into custody again on April 9 and charged with murder the next day, stated the Metropolitan Police.
On April 4, officers apprehended a 16-year-old lad and a 19-year-old man in Woolwich on suspicion of murder, along with a 46-year-old man suspected of aiding an offender. All three were granted bail, confirmed the police.
A 14-year-old lad, 16-year-old boy and 18-year-old man were arrested on April 3 in relation to Eghosa’s death and have been bailed while investigations proceed.
On April 10, another 16-year-old boy was also taken into custody on suspicion of murder. He remains behind bars.
Eghosa’s family are receiving support from specialist officers and the investigation is still underway, the police announced on Friday.
Meanwhile, a man stabbed to death at a London beauty spot in broad daylight has been pictured for the first time. Finbar Sullivan, 21, was one of two men knifed at tourist hotspot Primrose Hill on Tuesday (March 7).
Police were called following reports of a fight at North London’s Primrose Hill viewpoint. Finbar was treated by the ambulance service treated stab wounds but he was tragically pronounced dead at the scene, sparking a murder probe.
Another man in his 20s was found nearby with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital but his injuries were not believed to be life threatening or life-changing. A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of Finbar’s death, the Metropolitan Police said.
It comes as shocking video footage emerge showing the fight that lead to the horror double stabbing. Several young men can be seen fighting in the footage as shocked sunseekers watched on.
At one point, one of the youths appears to pull out a knife and begins threatening another person. He lunges towards them before quickly backing away.
The north London viewpoint – famed for its sweeping views across the capital – was packed as the UK enjoyed the the warmest day of the year. Cops and ambulance crews were called at around 6.40pm to reports of a fight at the viewpoint next to Regent’s Park.
