A beer mad bloke who drank 10 pints a day for 200 days claims he has ‘the best job in the world’ and that he bought a house from his earnings, despite concerns over his long-term health.

Jon May, 28, consumed the equivalent of three paddling pools worth of lager during his booze-athon, from which he reckons he earned around £8,000 a month from social media views alone.

Jon, who live-streams his viral boozing sessions online, told the Daily Star that “TikTok paid very, very well” and that he “was taking home about £8,000 a month.”

He added: “I did some clever investing . . . and I reckon I will never have to work again”.

Jon explained to the Star that he sees himself as something of an athlete, but rather than hours in the gym, his hard yards are put in down the boozer.

Jon revealed that he thinks he’s “a bit like a footballer”, but while “they spend their entire life making an absolute bucket load of money kicking a football, I drink a load of beers”.

When asked how he trained for what he saw as athletic high performance, his answer was simple: “beer. Every day.”

He explained: “Yesterday’s training was having beers. And the match today is training for tomorrow. It’s constant. Like a marathon.”

When questioned about the downsides of his constant drinking, Jon, who boasts around 150,000 followers across TikTok and Instagram, told the Star that he remained upbeat, despite what he described as ‘constant hate’ and a string of health issues such as problems with his kidneys and liver.

For Jon, trips to the hospital, and even a potentially shortened healthy life, would all be “worth” it. In return, he gets to live his “perfect life” spending every day in the pub, with the recognition he gets from punters there making him feel like a “celebrity”.

He said: “It’s the circle of life. You’re born, you pay taxes, and then you go… I reckon go get p****d for a while”, adding “I get a load of money, enjoying what I like. . .I couldn’t think of anything better.”

We asked Jon whether he would ever consider cutting down on drinking or perhaps focus on a different activity that wasn’t so potentially harmful. His answer was somewhat short, saying: “This is John from now until the end.”

Jon did admit that while he wasn’t too fussed about his health issues, he found the constant negative comments hard to deal with. While many of those who tune into his pub livestreams are positive, others mock him for his “pickled liver”, and chastise him for “being on benefits”, which Jon denies.

On one occasion, viewers located the pub he was livestreaming from, and called the cops, telling them he “had a machete”, leading to armed police showing up to apprehend him. Thankfully, the situation was diffused and nobody was hurt.

Jon’s family do have concerns over both his lifestyle and the dangers that online trolls could pose, but remain largely positive towards what Jon calls his ‘job’.

He explained: “My dad doesn’t understand it. My sister, she doesn’t really like it. . . and my mum says, [I don’t mind] as long as you’re happy.”

For those hoping Jon has another drink-related challenge up his sleeve, the Star has the exclusive, and thankfully, for those worried about Jon’s health, his next task is a lot more active than his original.

He revealed: “The next thing I’ve got to do is walk round Britain and see how many pints I drink then. I’ve been told it would take me three months. I reckon I can do it in two.”

Oh, and for another exclusive, Jon’s tipple of choice is Cruzcampo, although his opinions on IPAs are probably best left to the imagination.
