BRIT Award winner Olivia Dean is taking Salsa lessons in the hope of making her Strictly dreams come true.

The singer who triumphed at the Grammys, BRITs and MOBOs this year already, is a huge fan of the BBC dance show and would one day love to show off her moves. Olivia told Hits Radio: “I’ve been doing salsa lessons recently. Just learning a new skill that’s completely separate from my music and still in music, but not that like, I don’t know, I’m trying to do anything with it.”

However, when pressed as to whether she would go on Strictly as a contestant she responded: “I actually would… Don’t… I actually would,” however it was a different story for ITV’s I’m a Celeb, as it was a definite “No!”

Dean kicks off a run of huge UK arena shows next week and she’s still coming to terms with her incredible success. Her song Man I Need has been a hit across the world but the singer admits she was convinced it should ever have been a single.

Olivia spilled “(I) wasn’t sure about it.

“‘Man I Need wasn’t supposed to be a single. I wasn’t sure about it, I thought it was a little bit different and then we started playing it in rehearsals, and some of my band were like, ‘this one’s good you know’. And ‘I was like, ‘Yeah’.”

Even while she was recording the song in the studio she didn’t think of it as a hit despite loving the vibe: “I didn’t know if it was representative of the whole album and the story. But I’m glad I followed through with that one.”

Dean won four awards at the BRITs including Best Album for The Art Of Loving. Sounds like the star may have a follow-up for that opus already in the works.

“There was definitely loads of songs that didn’t make the album,” she revealed. “But I might still do something with them. I don’t know.”

Perhaps a deluxe edition with bonus material could be winging its way to fans later in the year in time for Christmas?

“I’m really trying to stay in the world of The Art of Loving and thinking about building the show and elaborating on the songs in that way,” she said.

“I’m always writing in my mind in some capacity. But yeah, I will make another album. I might as well.”
