‘The crime was viewed to be evil, and it was, but it doesn’t mean to say my brother did it.’

Barbara Stone has never stopped believing her brother Michael was innocent of one of Britain’s most shocking double murders.

Stone was jailed after being found guilty of the horror slayings of Lin Russell and her daughter Megan in a country lane near the village of Chillenden in Kent in 1996.

He’s spent nearly 30 years in some of the country’s highest security prisons ever since but has continued to profess his innocence and Barbara has been there every single day with him.

Now in an exclusive interview with The Crime Desk Barbara Stone reveals how the case changed her life, how her brother spends his time behind bars and the family’s never-ending fight to clear his name.

The Crime Desk will be re-examining the murders of Lin and Megan Russell as part of a new series on Crimes That Shocked Britain.

Our expert journalists will deliver exclusive interviews and gripping features from all the angles of the case to put YOU in the picture.

We also invite you to give your opinion and theories on the Chillenden Murders and whether Michael Stone was guilty. Let us know in the comments or at: crimedesk@dailymail.co.uk
