Trump is playing with fire after already upsetting millions of people with a meme of himself as Jesus, but this time he’s depicted as the son of God’s best mate.
The image posted to Truth Social features Trump in a heavenly-style embrace with Jesus, paired with dramatic text claiming that “satanic” and “demonic” forces are being exposed – and asking whether God might be “playing his Trump card”.
The messaging reads: “I was never a very religious man.. but doesn’t it seem, with all these satanic, demonic, child sacrificing monsters being exposed… that God might be playing his Trump card”.
The US President captioned the post: “The Radical Left Lunatics might not like this, but I think it is quite nice!!! President DJT”.
The post will no doubt soon be called out as inappropriate or blasphemous, as it elevates himself as a political figure to a religious status. It also comes uncomfortably soon after Trump posted another meme of himself depicted as Jesus.
While Trump turned back around to tell the public that they’d got the wrong end of the stick and he thought the picture was showing him as a doctor, not the son of God, people still were quick to humiliate him. One person said: “The whole world has gone absolutely crazy.” Another jested: “Looks like he is healing Jeffrey Epstein.”
This peculiar post came just hours after Trump unleashed a remarkable rant against the head of the Catholic Church, Pope Leo. Taking to his Truth Social platform, Trump lambasted Pope Leo as “Weak on Crime, and terrible for Foreign Policy.”
Trump didn’t stop there, criticising the Pope’s purported views on migration, the conflict in Iran, and the handling of the 2020 Covid pandemic, where he alleges priests were arrested for conducting church services.
Trump even took a personal swipe at Pope Leo, adding, “I like his brother Louis much better”.
His post stated: “I don’t want a Pope who thinks it’s OK for Iran to have a Nuclear Weapon. I don’t want a Pope who thinks it’s terrible that America attacked Venezuela, a Country that was sending massive amounts of Drugs into the United States and, even worse, emptying their prisons, including murderers, drug dealers, and killers, into our Country. And I don’t want a Pope who criticises the President of the United States because I’m doing exactly what I was elected, IN A LANDSLIDE, to do…”
Trump has lashed out at Pope Leo, urging the first US-born pontiff to “get his act together” and accusing him of pandering to the radical left. “Leo should get his act together as Pope, use Common Sense, stop catering to the Radical Left, and focus on being a Great Pope, not a Politician,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
