Legendary England football star, turned podcaster and TV personality Peter Crouch, is said to be in talks to star in the upcoming second series of Celebrity Traitors. According to reports bosses at the BBC One show are keen to cast a dynamic set of celebrities and hopefully recreate the success of the first series.

Crouchy, 45, has successfully created a career for himself post-football with podcasts such as The Peter Crouch podcast and The Therapy Crouch alongside wife Abbey Clancy, plus various TV show stints, hosting duties, and broadcasting responsibilities.

His natural wit, and relatable relationship with Abbey has seen his fanbase grow rapidly in the past few years making him a great casting for Celebrity Traitors and is reportedly one of the main names bosses are keen to book.

A source toldThe Sun: “Producers think Peter would be brilliant. He’s sporty, competitive and really funny.

They added: “They know landing him would be a big coup and bring a new type of viewer to the series.”

Peter has previously shown interest in the show, and expressed wishes to be a traitor. He once said: “I love Celebrity Traitors but I don’t know if I could go on it. I’d be a traitor. Being a traitor is the one.”

It comes after host Claudia Winkleman confirmed there’s been some huge profile names thrown around during early discussions.

Asked if there’s big stars being approached, she replied: “There certainly are.

“The people who make it are extraordinary and they had to repeat the people twice to me because I was like, ‘Huh, are you joking? Come again.’

“So, we’re incredibly lucky.”
