A 14-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder and carrying a bladed article after a 13-year-old girl was stabbed near Wensley Road, Woodthorpe
A 13-year-old girl has been left with serious injuries following a stabbing in broad daylight. A 14-year-old boy has subsequently been charged with attempted murder after the attack which occurred at around 4pm near Wensley Road, in Woodthorpe, on Friday, 17 April.
The teenage victim was rushed to hospital where her condition is described as stable. The 14-year-old suspect, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with attempted murder and carrying a bladed article.
He was scheduled to appear at Nottingham Youth Court on Monday, 20 April, reports Nottinghamshire Live. Superintendent James Woolley, who oversees county policing, said: “Officers are supporting the victim and her family through this traumatic incident.
“We understand the impact an incident like this will have on the local community. I would like to reassure the public we are doing everything we can to understand the circumstances that has led to this attack.
“We have arrested and charged a 14-year-old boy with attempted murder.”
