A number of products have been recalled amid fears that they could make people poorly. Supermarket giants including Aldi, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and M&S are recalling popular salad toppers, yoghurts and other food items for a few reasons, including a possible Salmonella contamination.

Symptoms of Salmonella include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps and can be especially dangerous to those deemed vulnerable, such as people with underlying health conditions and pregnant women. Other reasons include the wrong ‘use by’ dates being displayed on products and another product containing gluten, which could be dangerous for those who are intolerant.

The Food Standards Agency have released this week’s list online. All of the products listed should not be consumed and can be returned – without receipt – to the supermarket you purchased it from.

Here is a full list of items:

Good4U salad topper

The Super Sprouts Super Greens has been recalled due to possible Salmonella contamination. The Food Standards Agency said: “If you have bought the above product, do not eat it. Instead, return it to where you bought it. For more information, you can contact info@good4u.ie.”

Greek Yogurt

Marks and Spencer has recalled its Authentic Greek Yoghurt with Vanilla due to undeclared gluten in the product.

The FSA said: “This product may contain gluten making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to gluten or have coeliac disease. Customer safety is of paramount importance to Marks and Spencer, and we take food safety extremely seriously.”

Salmon Fillets

Aldi is asking shoppers to return a packet of salmon fillets from its Fishmonger range.

They said: “As a precautionary measure, our supplier is recalling The FishMonger Hot Smoked 2 Salmon Fillets – Honey Roasted because the incorrect Use By Date is printed on the pack.”
