After a series of devastating heartbreaks, a high-profile divorce, and a string of infidelities, British adullt Star Bonnie Locket has announced her intention to wed the only person she can truly trust: herself. The 38-year-old, who currently resides in Ibiza, is reclaiming her narrative through sologamy.

As a result, she has been turning her back on traditional relationships to celebrate her own resilience, independence, and hard-won happiness.

The symbolic ceremony, set to take place on a beach in Ibiza this May, marks a radical shift for the woman who once believed her worth was tied to her status as a partner. After decades of “being disappointed by men”, Bonnie decided that if she were to spend her life alone, she would do so with a grand, unapologetic statement.

“I found myself in a position where I’m 38 years old and I’ve been disappointed by so many men,” Bonnie said. “There are so many women out there like me that have been disappointed by men and they get to this ripe old age of not having children, the body clock’s running out, and we’re not married or settled down.”

She continued: “We’re just on our own. I feel like, if I’m going to be on my own, I’m going to make an absolute statement about it.

“I can’t disappoint myself. This can’t end in divorce.

“This can’t end in infidelity, and I won’t be hurt by myself.” For Bonnie (@‌bonnielocketxox), the path to self-marriage was forged in the fire of deep personal betrayal.

She spent 11 years with her former partner, only for their nine-month marriage to end when she discovered he had been cheating on her throughout their entire relationship. The discovery, she admitted, nearly “ended” her.

“I don’t quite know how I survived that, to be honest with you,” she revealed. “It was like my whole world disappeared and then I was kind of just left to fend for myself. It was either fight or flight.”

Hoping for a fresh start, Bonnie moved to Ibiza with a new partner, only to find history repeating itself. After putting down a non-refundable deposit of 85,000 euros on a house they intended to share, she discovered he had also been unfaithful.

Faced with the choice of returning to the UK or staying in a foreign country alone in the house she had bought for a shared dream, Bonnie chose herself. “I’ve never felt better,” Bonnie said of her seven months of solitude, the longest she has been single since she was a teenager.

She added: “I’m 38 years old on my own in a foreign country in a house that I bought for me and my ex, but honestly, I’ve never felt better. I’m a full human on my own and I’m so proud of myself.”

The upcoming wedding will be a high-end affair designed to “change the meaning” of past trauma. Bonnie plans to wear her original custom Galia Lahav wedding dress, a gown valued at over £15,000 that has remained shoved in a suitcase since her divorce.

By wearing it to marry herself, she hopes to transform the garment from a symbol of heartbreak into one of positive self-empowerment. She explained: “It is my dream wedding dress, and I want to change the meaning of that dress because it meant so much to me and it was something I’ve wanted since I was a little girl.

“I had the dream wedding before, but it all goes to show it doesn’t matter how much money you have or how much you spend on a wedding, none of that matters. I think I’m the only person I would trust with that vow.”

To seal the commitment, Bonnie has designed a £20,000 custom engagement ring featuring a three-carat yellow diamond. The choice of a yellow stone is deeply personal, intended to represent the Ibiza sun and the bright future she has built for herself.

She said: “I’ve already had a normal diamond before with my ex-husband, so I wanted something different. I want to be married.

“I believe in marriage. I just don’t believe in it with another human.”

Since finding her footing as a single woman, Bonnie has thrown herself into new passions that her past relationships often stifled. She has returned to her dancing roots by launching a popular “sexy heels” dance class in Ibiza and has taken up DJing, with her first major gig already booked for late April.

She is also collaborating with her dad to build a country home in Lincolnshire, a dream her former partner never supported. She said: “I was literally contemplating killing myself, and now I’m in such a strong headspace.

“I have my two beautiful dogs, my beautiful home, I live in a beautiful place and I’m financially free. I feel so blessed and grateful.

“I don’t need anyone else. I’m good.”

While the concept of sologamy often draws skepticism, Bonnie is unbothered by those who call the move “mental”. For her, the ceremony is a necessary celebration of survival and a promise to never again allow her happiness to be contingent on the loyalty of others.

She said: “I’m absolutely fine with being a bit mental. If the worst thing I can do is marry myself, I haven’t harmed anybody.

“All I’ve done is made a commitment to myself. After what I’ve been through, f— them.”

The ceremony will be attended by a close-knit group of friends who have supported Bonnie through her transition from heartbreak to independence. As she prepares to walk down the aisle alone, she hopes her story serves as a beacon for other women struggling with the pressure to find “the one”.

She concluded: “I feel full without having a partner. For me to have ended up 38, no kids, on my own in a different country and surviving, I think that deserves celebrating.”
