A risqué British couple who earn a fortune from an adult website have hit out at the portrayal of their lifestyle in hit TV show Euphoria.
Jade and Josh Vow, who have been together for eight years, juggle creating content and looking after their cats, yet still find time to watch Cassie Howard’s – played by Sydney Sweeney – escapades on the small screen. And they’re far from impressed.
Jade, who lives in Cyprus with Josh and boasts 57,200 followers on her Instagram @LittlePidge, said: “The Euphoria representation of adult websites is a pretty inaccurate depiction. In fact, most of the things Sydney Sweeney is doing in the show, as her character isn’t even allowed on racy websites.
“For a start, dressing up as a baby and wearing diapers is completely against the rules; you would get banned in a second if you tried that, rightly so.”
Josh said: “I’ve had content removed from platforms simply because a random dog ran past in the distant background. It’s very strict.”
He added “I’m not the biggest fan of how much the world’s eye has turned to the adult industry because I liked it being this fun, underground, taboo thing.
“Now, everyone’s doing it – even in these mainstream shows like Euphoria. They’re not doing it any justice or giving it what it deserves.
“Sydney’s character is blatantly rage-baiting the world, and the more rage that’s created, the more governments and powers will restrict and censor the entire industry, unnecessarily.”
Jade said: “There are pros and cons.
“Part of me likes the fact that adult websites and sex work in general is becoming a little more normalised and accepted in society, but I think it does more damage than good when it’s portrayed as it is in Euphoria.”
However the oversaturated market hasn’t affected the couple’s income.
Jade said: “It hasn’t really affected us. Our style is super unique.
“We’re not run-of-the-mill creators showing nothing but sexy lingerie photos. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but those people come and go, whereas we have a strong niche and our own brand.”
The pair, who aspire to wed eventually and trust one another “100%”, relocated from Cornwall and Somerset to Taunton together, before departing for sunny Cyprus.
Jade said: “We have good weather, beaches, it was a really easy move.”
And they’re thriving financially.
Jade, who claims she’s made up to £6,000 in a single month purely from evaluating and scoring her male subscribers’ physiques, confesses she remains no nearer to discovering the perfect 10.
“Does a 10 even exist?” she asked. “I don’t know what I’m looking for exactly. It’s a lot of things from aesthetics, tidiness like trimming, and neatness, but then also just that ‘something’ that makes my mouth water.” One individual exempt from the rating system is Josh.
Jade said: “I don’t think I could rate him, I feel like he’d need to create an anonymous account, but I still think I’d know it’s him.”
Josh admits there’s a reason she’d recognise him: “I’m proud of my willy. It’s not just a size thing either.”
Jade quipped: “I’d give it a good six out of 10.
“There are some bad ones out there, but they’re the fun ones. Some guys are into humiliation and it’s my favourite thing to do – slate them.
“If I end up laughing, it just adds to the legitimacy and honesty of my rating.”
However, when roles are reversed, Josh rates an unexpected aspect of Jade’s physique.
“She has really cute eyelids that make her look like a pigeon. That’s where her nickname and Instagram name come from, Little Pidge.”
Jade said she also admires Josh’s muscular forearms, his upper lip and icy blue eyes, but above all, they’re attracted to each other’s souls.
Josh said: “I don’t like anger or drama in my life. I mean, it’s great watching it on Love Island, but I’m zero drama.
“Usually, in a relationship, someone is creating it, but not with us. Jade is calm and has a positive outlook on life.”
Jade reveals that Josh possesses a unique ability, according to the 27 year old.
“He allows me to unmask around him. I’m not a very social person but even in other relationships, I’d still want time away from them, but with Josh, we’re joint at the hip.”
