Perv probe delay fears

The criminal probe in New Mexico about just what took place at Jeffrey Epstein’s secretive Zorro Ranch reminds us that this scandal is far from over.

Former staff being interviewed about visits by the paedophile’s pals, including Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, shows authorities are ready to follow the evidence wherever it leads.

Yet a question hangs over all of this: why has it taken so long? Allegations, complaints and warning signs were raised for years. Victims spoke out. Concerns were documented.

Meaningful action seems to have come far too late. It is right investigators are speaking to witnesses and building a clearer picture of what happened behind the estate’s gates. But this should not be happening only now.
