A boy was made to smash his own PS5 as punishment for severely mistreating the family cat. A clip has emerged from the US, showing the sobbing boy – no older than eight, or nine – raising his PS5 console above his head before bringing it smashing down onto the concrete floor outside his house. Meanwhile, a stern mother’s voice comes from behind the camera, instructing him to “pick that s*** up, and do it again.”
Reluctantly, but obediently, the kid picks up his device once more before hurling it onto the floor. Screws and bits of metal break off the PS5 in the humiliation ritual that lasts over a minute.
From what the mother says, it is understood the game station smashing is the boy’s punishment for “slamming a cat onto the ground, multiple times”.
It is understood the boy, who the mother says “has anger problems”, took his frustration out on the animal after failing at one of his PS5 games.
By the end of the clip, the lad is crying – perhaps he will learn his lesson.
The mother’s actions divided the comment section, with many siding with the parent for disciplining her child while others questioned her methods.
“He needed to understand the pain he caused—just hope it leads to real growth,” one person wrote.
“Good mother, right there,” another said. “Do not tolerate animal cruelty.”
Some people disagreed with the parent. “Well she is going to end up buying him a new one so who Leo what lesson will be learned here just will be spending 2 times the money again plus they are more expensive now,” one person commented.
“Does this mother really think that posting the video online to get likes will make her child change? If she really did it purely for educational purposes, she wouldn’t have posted the video online,” another questioned.
