The DWP has confirmed the full list of 24 skin conditions that could make someone eligible for the Personal Independence Payment – including eczema, psoriasis and rosacea
Brits suffering from painful or irritating skin conditions could be eligible for a financial boost as the DWP confirms exactly which diagnoses qualify for Personal Independence Payment (PIP). With over 3.7 million people across England and Wales now relying on PIP to navigate the rising costs of long-term health issues, the extra cash can be a lifeline.
As of April 2026, the benefit remains tax-free, non-means-tested and available even if you are working or have a savings pot.
According to the Manchester Evening News, common conditions such as eczema (varicose and dermatitis), psoriasis and rosacea are among those that could see money landing in your bank account.
Following a 3.8 per cent inflationary hike in January, the DWP updated its payment rates and expanded its list of qualifying conditions.
For the Daily Living Component, the Standard Rate is now £76.70 per week, while the Enhanced Rate has increased to £114.60 per week.
Regarding the Mobility Component, the Standard Rate is set at £30.30 per week, and the Enhanced Rate is £80 per week.
Whether you struggle with daily living tasks, like dressing or washing, or have mobility issues, you could be entitled to one or both components of the benefit.
To be eligible for PIP, you must be aged 16 or over and suffer from a long-term physical or mental health condition or disability.
Furthermore, you must struggle with certain daily tasks or mobility and anticipate these difficulties to persist for at least 12 months from their onset.
