US President Donald Trump’s youngest son Barron is a time traveller, according to a 19th century book. A century-old children’s fantasy novel is fuelling time travel and other conspiracy theories in relation to the family of US President Donald Trump.

Baron Trump’s Marvellous Underground Journey’ was written in 1893 by American author Ingersoll Lockwood. It is the second book in a short series about a young, wealthy German aristocrat named Wilhelm Heinrich Sebastian Von Troomp, better known as ‘Baron Trump’.

In the story, the boy lives at Castle Trump and sets off on an extraordinary quest after being guided by an old manuscript linked to a Spaniard called ‘Don’.

He travels to Russia in search of a portal to a hidden realm described as a ‘World within a World’. Accompanied by his dog, Bulger, Baron then descends deep beneath the Earth, encountering strange civilisations and mysterious creatures as the adventure unfolds.

Theories about the US President and the 130-year book circulated so widely that Lara Trump, Eric Trump’s wife, addressed it on her podcast, commenting on the ‘amount of views that some of these videos get where they really dissect how this really worked out’, the Daily Mail reported. She said about her brother in law: “I’m not trying to ruin anybody or rain on any parades here.

“Barron Trump is not a time traveller. Sorry to say it, I’m sorry, I broke a lot of people’s hearts today.

She further described the theory as “crazy”, according to the Daily Mail. Trump’s daughter-in-law went on to challenge listeners directly.

She said: “Name me one time traveller. Name me anybody who actually can say that that’s a real thing.”

Lara continued: “It doesn’t exist, but people have gotten so far off the rails on this Barron Trump being a time traveller thing. I don’t know what to tell you.

“I think it’s crazy.” She added: “I’ve known Barron for 18 years.

“OK, he’s not a time traveller. I’ve seen him grow up.”

Conspiracy threads also draw on another Lockwood title, ‘The Last President’, which follows a political outsider from New York who wins the presidency. It opens with the city in chaos in early November following the election of a widely opposed candidate, with the east side described as being in a “state of uproar”.

In one passage, the book says police cried out as ‘Mobs of vast size are organizing under the lead of anarchists and socialists, and threaten to plunder and despoil the houses of the rich who have wronged and oppressed them for so many years’. Another line adds: “The Fifth Avenue Hotel will be the first to feel the fury of the mob,” before asking: ‘Would the troops be in time to save it?’
