A man has been charged with two counts of harassment after a bloke ‘in a balaclava’ confronted the former Duke of York near his Sandringham home on Wednesday evening
A man has been charged with two counts of harassment after ex-Prince Andrew was allegedly chased by a bloke in a balaclava on Wednesday evening.
Alex Jenkinson, aged 39 and of Stowmarket, Suffolk, has been charged with two counts of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to harass someone or cause alarm or distress. He has also been charged with failing to provide a specimen of blood in custody.
Jenkinson is in custody and is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Friday. The former Duke of York was out walking his dogs when he was accosted by a man wearing a balaclava who was sitting in a car on Wednesday evening in Wolferton, close to his Marsh Farm property, as reported by The Telegraph.
The individual is said to have spotted the disgraced ex-prince 50 yards away, then exited his vehicle and advanced towards Andrew while yelling at him. Norfolk Police stated: “Officers were called to Wolferton shortly after 7.30pm yesterday (Wednesday May 6 2026) following a report a man was behaving in an intimidating manner in the village.
“Officers attended, and the man was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and possession of an offensive weapon. He was taken to King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre for questioning and remains in custody.”
The late Queen’s second son receives an annual stipend from his brother, the King.
This includes an allowance for private security costs, but how the former duke utilises this is at his discretion, the Press Association understands.
Earlier this year, Andrew finally relocated from Windsor Great Park’s 30-room Royal Lodge, where he had paid nominal rent on the Crown Estate property for many years, to Charles’s private Sandringham Estate, establishing his new home at Marsh Farm.
The five-bedroom Marsh Farm, refurbished for the former duke, is tucked away in the remote corners of the sprawling 20,000-acre estate.
It’s situated just about 500 metres from the quaint village of Wolferton, and a mere 4km from the King’s Sandringham House.
Andrew was arrested in February – on his 66th birthday – under suspicion of misconduct in public office following claims he disclosed sensitive information to paedophile Jeffrey Epstein during his tenure as the UK’s trade envoy.
He was stripped by the King of both his princely title and his dukedom late last year due to his association with convicted sex offender Epstein.
Virginia Giuffre, who tragically took her own life in 2025, alleged that she was coerced into having sex with Andrew on three occasions, including when she was 17, in London after being trafficked by Epstein, and at an orgy on Epstein’s private Caribbean island.
New allegations suggest that a second woman was dispatched to the UK by the paedophile financier for a sexual encounter with Andrew, and also that the former prince and Epstein requested a threesome with an exotic dancer at the latter’s Florida residence.
Andrew has refuted any wrongdoing concerning his ties to Epstein regarding Ms Giuffre, but has not directly addressed the most recent allegations.
Buckingham Palace chose not to comment, while Andrew’s representatives have yet to respond to a request for a comment.
