Luke Littler has continued his dominance in Premier League Darts, beating Luke Humphries in the final, to win his third night on the bounce in Leeds
Luke Littler has won his third Premier League Darts night on the bounce, and his second in-a-row against Luke Humphries, in Leeds on Thursday.
The Nuke, 19, overcame a hostile reception and a bizarre opening leg against Michael van Gerwen to vanquish the Dutch star. int he quarters, outclass Johnny Clayton in the semi-finals and beat his old rival Humphries in the final.
The adopted hometown hero was taken to a decider by the reigning World Champion, who, against the throw, split 26 to take the win. Littler, who averaged over 100, has now extended his lead at the top of the standings.
“Humphries really should have won that. Too many players are beat before they play against Littler,” one fan moaned on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Death, taxes, and a player bottling it and not hitting a treble in a leg for the match against Littler,” a second joked. As a third said: “Kid is unstoppable right now… pure dominance!”
And another added: “Littler wins well deserve Humphries played well missed a dart for 5-4 Littler missed 3 darts for 4-2 it balanced out Littler just ruthless timing!”
Speaking to Sky Sports, Littler said: “A very good night. Every game went to a last-leg decider so the crowd definitely got their money’s worth tonight!
“I’m very happy with myself and now I can go on to break my own record. Seeing Luke miss for the match was crucial. I pounced on it. But it was another good game between us.
“I’ll take winning three nights in a row! I’m in the clear now and I just need to keep top spot.”
