Sir Dave Brailsford has officially been removed from his role at Manchester United in a major INEOS shake-up.

The former Team Sky Cycling boss was part of the hierarchy at Old Trafford following Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS’ investment in the club and takeover of the footballing operations in December 2023

Brailsford was heavily involved in setting up the new leadership team behind the scenes at Old Trafford, including the decision to hire Omar Berrada as chief executive.

However, club filings have revealed that Brailsford is no longer listed as a club director. This comes after reports last summer that he would move back to his Director of Sport role for INEOS.

Brailsford took on the mammoth role at United despite having no background in football. The 62-year-old spent a year in charge of football operations at United after INEOS took control of the club from the Glazer family.

He oversaw a tumultuous time at Old Trafford that saw United finish 15th in the Premier League and lose the Europa League final last season after employing the disastrous Ruben Amorim.
