A woman narrowly avoided hitting people with her car after she went against police orders and drove through a bomb cordon in Plymouth.

Cordons were established in the Southway area of Plymouth on Wednesday, April 29, following the unearthing of a WW2 ordnance at a construction site on Flamborough Road.

Devon and Cornwall Police report that at 6.45pm that day, a car drove through the cordon despite police instructions.

They further state that the vehicle barely missed two Royal Navy personnel, and a piece of Royal Navy EOD equipment was damaged.

Officers halted the vehicle, and a local woman was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop a vehicle when directed by an officer and criminal damage to property, reports Plymouth Live.
