Bombshell Hantavirus predictions – from Simpsons episode to thriller ‘time traveller’

A mysterious virus is once again threatening to throw the world into chaos – and some people apparently saw it coming. Hantavirus is feared to be spreading to all four corners of the world after an outbreak on a cruise ship.

Dozens of tourists, who disembarked the vessel since it set sail for Argentina on April 14, are being hunted by health authorities due to fears they could be infected and spreading the disease. Experts believe a rare version of the rat bug, called the Andes strain, is behind the surge in cases because it can be transmitted from human to human.

If the outbreak spirals into a pandemic, the death toll could be greater than Covid-19 due to the Andes strain killing 40% of the infected. And some people appear to have predicted this potential disaster a long time ago.

Here are all the hantavirus predictions:

Mysterious tweet

An eerie tweet predicting the outbreak of the 2026 rat-borne cruise ship virus is shaking the internet as social media users have hailed the soothsayer as a “time traveller”.

In the creepy post, an X user named Soothsayer accurately foretold the arrival of the 2026 Hantavirus outbreak. The tweet, posted in June 2022, has been viewed millions of times and has amassed more than a quarter million likes.

The seer wrote: “2023: Corona ended. 2026: Hantavirus.”

Other X users erupted in confusion after unearthing the tweet. One commented: “How the f*** he predicted pandemics better than world governments and scientists?”

X-Files warned of ‘plague to end all plagues’

The X-Files seemingly predicted the hantavirus outbreak even before the Covid-19 pandemic. In a dodgy back alley, crackpot writer Dr Alvin Kurtzweil tells Agent Mulder of a mysterious virus surging in suburban Texas.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were called out to deal with the surge of hantavirus, which Kurtzweil says is a red flag for something more sinister going on. He goes on to warn Agent Mulder of a “plague to end all plagues”.

The prediction is made more eery considering it was made almost 30 years ago in The X-Files: Fight The Future, a feature-length film released in 1998. It comes as health authorities across the world are battling hantavirus after the deadly disease ripped through a luxury cruise ship.

Dr Kurtzweil says in the clip: “What killed them I won’t even write about. We have no context for what killed those men or any appreciation of the scale it will be unleashed in the future.

“A plague to end all plagues agent Mulder. A silent weapon for a quiet war. The systematic release of an organism which the men who will bring it on still have no cure.”

Bill Gates pandemic prediction

Microsoft founder Bill Gates has a bit of an obsession with pandemics and has been warning the next one will be “far more severe” than Covid-19. In an interview with The View, the billionaire said: “We should be more prepared, it’s up to the government to think ahead on behalf of the citizens.

“So with a pandemic, there’s a lot you should be doing, but hopefully we’ll get our act together before the next one comes.”

Simpsons did it

As with every world event, the Simpsons depicted the hantavirus outbreak years before it happened. In a 2012 episode from season 12 of the iconic cartoon, Bart pranks a cruise ship by convincing everyone on board of a deadly disease outbreak.

The cheeky chap uses a giant screen to show passengers and crew a clip from a fictional disaster film warning a pandemic has broken out, meaning they cannot dock anywhere. A general named William Sullivan tells of a “pandora strain” wrecking havoc on humanity.
