Carol Vorderman, Denise Van Outen, and other glamorous football icons brought serious glamour to the turquoise carpet at the star-studded Women’s Football Awards
The turquoise carpet was overflowing with glamour, famous faces and football royalty as stars arrived for the 2026 SHEIN Women’s Football Awards in London on Thursday night (May 7).
Held inside the luxurious The Chancery Rosewood in Mayfair, the glittering ceremony celebrated the biggest names in women’s football while also serving up plenty of show-stopping fashion moments.
Leading the glamorous arrivals was Match of the Day star Kelly Cates, who later took home the Media Figure of the Year award. The presenter looked radiant as she posed on the turquoise carpet before being recognised for her huge impact on football broadcasting.
TV favourite Denise Van Outen also turned heads as she arrived at the celebrity-packed event, bringing plenty of red carpet glamour to the evening. Denise appeared in high spirits while posing for photographers outside the venue and quickly became one of the standout celebrity arrivals of the night.
Meanwhile, Carol Vorderman looked effortlessly chic as she joined the growing list of stars supporting the women’s game. The Countdown legend added a touch of classic glamour to the turquoise carpet as she mingled with footballers, broadcasters and reality stars throughout the evening.
The ceremony itself was hosted by broadcasting favourite Gabby Logan alongside former Liverpool ace Jamie Carragher, with both helping guide the packed evening of celebrations and awards.
Football stars also brought serious style to the bash. Former England star Toni Duggan wowed in a dramatic sequinned fishtail gown complete with mesh sleeves and ruffle detailing.
Danielle Carter embraced full glamour in a stunning chocolate brown mesh dress, while Lioness Nikita Parris made a statement in a sleek tailored suit teamed with elegant heels.
Former England footballer turned broadcaster Lianne Sanderson also impressed in an embellished blazer and fitted trousers combo as she worked the cameras outside the venue.
Away from the fashion, the night celebrated the stars helping push women’s football to new heights both on and off the pitch.
Manchester City striker Khadija Shaw scooped the prestigious Player of the Year prize following another standout season, while Manchester United defender Maya Le Tissier was crowned Young Player of the Year after cementing herself as one of the brightest young stars in the sport.
Arsenal talent Michelle Agyemang also received the Rising Star award, highlighting her rapid rise in the women’s game.
Elsewhere, Bethany England was honoured with the Inspirational Role Model award, while Nikita Parris received the Game Changer award for her impact both on and off the pitch.
The ceremony also recognised the organisations helping elevate women’s football globally. Adobe won Brand of the Year, while Adidas picked up the Global Impact Award.
Chelsea Football Club took home Best Marketing Campaign, while the Premier League was recognised for Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility.
There were emotional moments throughout the evening too, including a poignant special tribute to Matt Beard recognising his lasting contribution to the women’s game.
A special message from Prince William was also played during the ceremony, praising the “extraordinary” rise of women’s football and the people continuing to transform the sport both on and off the pitch.
