Prince Harry is reportedly “very sad” that Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are “missing out on life with the rest of their family”. A source close to the Duke of Sussex, 41, referenced Prince William’s children – Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s cousins – and their ties to the royal family while describing Harry’s melancholy.

The friend revealed: “Harry feels his children are missing out on the extensive family network that their cousins are enjoying. “Harry wants his children to have the very best education. He has retained his closest friendship group of confidants from his days at school at Ludgrove and Eton.

He wants that for his own children… Archie and Lili are having a lovely time in California, but Harry is very sad that they are missing out on life with the rest of their family.”

However, Meghan Markle, 44, portrayed a scene of domestic happiness by posting two sweet snaps of Archie on Wednesday to mark his seventh birthday. One captured Archie and Lilibet relishing a seaside excursion in the US, where Meghan and Harry have resided since stepping back from royal duties in 2020.

Last year, Harry spoke enthusiastically about American life. The father of two had declared: “I enjoy living and bringing my kids up here, it’s a part of my life that I never thought I was going to live and it feels as though it’s the life that my mum wanted for me.” But friends reckon his stance has shifted considerably of late, especially following Prince William and Princess Kate’s release of a fresh photograph and video of Princess Charlotte to celebrate her 11th birthday last Saturday.

This prompted a pal of Prince Harry to reveal to the Daily Mail that the royal is desperate for his own youngsters to experience the same kind of upbringing as their cousins; Charlotte, Prince George, 12, and eight year old Prince Louis, reports the Mirror.

The Prince and Princess of Wales’ offspring all attend the same independent school, £32,000-per-year Lambrook in Berkshire. Harry himself was educated at Ludgrove School, another fee-paying establishment in Berkshire. Following successful entrance examinations, Harry went on to Eton College.

However, it’s believed Meghan opposes her children taking such a path. The insider added: “There is still some negotiation for Harry to have with Meghan. The King, however, is delighted.”

The source’s remarks suggest the duke had discussed his intentions to school his children in Britain with his father, whom he met for tea at Clarence House last September. Reports indicate Harry hopes to bring Meghan, and potentially their children, along when he returns to Britain in the summer to promote the Invictus Games for wounded and ill former military personnel.
