Tesla is offering its EV owners an energy package that combines the EV, home battery storage and solar panels at a reduced price.
Its Renewable Energy Bundle of Solar and Powerwall 3 costs £199 a month, including installation and fitting, with 0 per cent interest.
This price aims to encourage Tesla owners to unlock renewable energy for the home at an affordable and competitive monthly cost.
The offer is part of Tesla’s move towards bringing ‘sustainable abundance’ to the UK under the umbrella of its Master Plan Part IV.
The Elon Musk-owned carmaker was recently granted a license by Ofgem to become an energy retailer in Britain.
Tesla’s future as an energy provider comes after several years of slowing EV sales: 2024 and 2025 marked two consecutive years of declining sales.
While April’s sales figures rose 62 per cent annually, structural challenges remain.
Tesla’s new Renewable Energy Bundle of Solar and Powerwall 3 will cost only £199 a month, including installation and fitting. The offer is only applicable to Tesla EV owners
Who benefits from the reduced energy package price? How much money could be saved?
An eight-panel solar installation and Powerwall costs £199 per month with a £1,747 deposit over a four-year term.
Tesla says with a vehicle lease price of £295 per month for a Model 3 Rear Wheel Drive, a new customer could join the Tesla renewable ecosystem for just £494 per month for their vehicle, solar panels and home battery.
This is only available to Tesla owners, but non-Tesla EV owners can apply for other pricing at Boxt, with zero per cent options, fixed pricing and hassle-free installations.
With access to solar panels and Powerwall 3 considered and a Tesla EV charging on solar, running costs can be reduced significantly.
This is particularly appealing to UK drivers who currently face soaring petrol and diesel costs.
Tesla Powerwall owners save an average of £1,450 per year when paired with solar panels.
On an EV tariff Tesla says that its vehicles cost approximately £3.30 to fully charge.
How are Tesla sales doing so far in 2026?
According to data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, Tesla registered 11,739 vehicles in the first quarter.
Sales of Tesla vehicles in the UK rose in April annually, continuing the brand’s recent recovery trend:
Tesla sold 831 vehicles in the UK last month – a 62 per cent increase year-on-year. However, it’s a drop in registrations from March, when 8,599 vehicles were recorded.
But Tesla says this reflects typical seasonal patterns, as the first month of a new quarter is a low month for deliveries, with the EV maker waiting for a new shipment of vehicles to come into the country ahead of their registration and delivery to customers.
