How I Met Your Mother actor Nick Pasqual faces life in prison after being found guilty of the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend Allie Shehorn
A Hollywood actor who appeared in How I Met Your Mother is facing a life sentence after being found guilty of a blood-soaked murder attempt on his former partner. Nick Pasqual, 36, carried out a horrific attack on award-winning makeup artist Allie Shehorn, stabbing her more than 20 times after storming her Sunland home in Los Angeles.
A California jury delivered their verdict on Friday, convicting the actor of attempted murder and first-degree residential burglary.
He was also found guilty of domestic violence and injuring a spouse or cohabitant. The terrifying ordeal unfolded at approximately 4.30 am in May 2024.
Despite Shehorn, 37, having a restraining order in place, Pasqual broke into the property and launched a frenzied assault that left her fighting for her life.
The court heard harrowing details of the lead-up to the attack. Shehorn testified that their relationship had spiralled into a cycle of domestic abuse, alleging Pasqual had previously lashed her with a belt and choked her.
Recalling a terrifying confrontation before their split, Shehorn told the court: “I locked the door and he just started punching holes in that door and broke that open, and I just ran into the bathroom because I thought there’s another lock on that door.”
Following the brutal stabbing, Pasqual attempted to evade justice by fleeing toward the Mexican border. However, his run from the law ended a week later when he was intercepted and captured by authorities in Texas.
Shehorn was discovered “bleeding out” in her bedroom by her friend and housemate, Christine White, who rushed her to the hospital in a critical state.
Reflecting on the grim discovery, White previously said: “That wasn’t a pretty sight. This is not the kind of thing that should happen to anybody.”
The victim suffered deep lacerations to her neck, arms and abdomen. She only survived following multiple emergency surgeries and a gruelling stint in intensive care.
The resilient artist, whose credits include Mean Girls and Rebel Moon, has since defied the odds to return to work in the industry.
Pasqual is now set to be sentenced on June 2, where he faces spending the rest of his life behind bars.
