Two men have been arrested after a woman was allegedly raped in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, with the attack said to have happened in the early hours of the morning on Bank Street, Mexborough
Two blokes have been nicked after a woman was allegedly raped in Doncaster.
South Yorkshire Police officers were summoned at 2.09am last Saturday (May 2) to reports of a rape in Mexborough. It’s alleged that a woman was raped by two men on Bank Street. Following a probe, a 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape and a 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault on Sunday (May 2).
Both have been released on bail pending further investigations. One of the suspects is described as white, about 5ft 10ins tall, of average build, and bald. The second suspect is described as white, roughly 6ft tall, and of a slim build. The woman is being provided with specialist support.
Detective Chief Inspector Susannah Wagstaff stated: “We know that news of this incident will cause concern in our local communities but I want to reassure you that we have a team of detectives working hard to progress this investigation.”

Meanwhile, a police cordon was set up on a popular UK beach on Friday following a reported rape of a woman. An inquiry is underway after it was reported that the victim was attacked on Boscombe Beach in Bournemouth.
Dorset Police received information that a man had sexually assaulted a woman around 10pm on Thursday night. Officers were spotted examining the waterfront and the sandy area as the investigation progressed on Friday.
The force confirmed that no arrests have been made in relation to the incident. They stated: “We received a report that a man had raped a woman on Boscombe beach at around 10pm on Thursday 7 May 2026.
“An investigation is underway and detectives are speaking with the victim to provide support and establish the full circumstances of the incident.
“A cordon has been put in place to allow for enquiries to be carried out. There will be an increased police presence in the area as the investigation continues. No arrests have been made.”
