TOWIE’s Georgia Harrison grows tearful as she honours late co-star Jake Hall at BAFTA TV Awards – days after his tragic loss of life at 35

TOWIE star Georgia Harrison grew tearful on the red carpet while discussing the death of her late co-star Jake Hall

Speaking to The Daily Mail ahead of the BAFTA Television Awards at the Royal Festival Hall, the reality star and activist, 31, paid tribute to the fashion designer.

Jake was found dead by police at around 7.30am on Wednesday at a rented property in Santa Margalida, Mallorca with fatal head wounds, believed to have been caused by shards of glass after falling through a glass door.

On the red carpet, Georgia said: ‘Everybody feels very deeply for his family. For the people that did know him, it’s horrifying, and for the people that don’t know him it’s still sad. [Wiping away tears] Let’s not ruin my make-up!’

After news of the tragic accident came to light on Thursday, Georgia joined the chorus of friends and fans paying tribute, as she took to Instagram to write: ‘RIP Jake my heart’s breaking for everyone close to you today and your amazing family.’

Alongside a host of other wellwishers, on Friday, Jake’s childhood sweetheart Chloe Lewis responded to a post honouring the late star.

Chloe, 35, dated Jake from their teenage years before their romance became on-off during their stints on the show, with Jake joining in 2015 and remaining a regular cast member from series 14 to series 17.

Despite an acrimonious end to their relationship in 2016, after news of his death erupted on Thursday, Chloe maintained a dignified silence before liking the poignant post from Jake’s pal Dan Bulman about his late friend.

In his touching message, Dan touched on Jake being a ‘fiercely loyal and loving father’ to his eight-year-old daughter River, whom he shares with Real Housewives Of Cheshire star Misse Bequiri.

Chloe’s nod to her ex came in her like on Dan’s post, which read: ‘I rarely post stuff on here but if there’s one guy worth taking a different path for it’s my mate Jake. It’s incredibly hard to believe he’s gone in a flash, just like that…

‘I’d regularly joke with Jake that he was all over the place, in fact we joked about that on the phone 2 days ago…

‘We joked about it, because it was his biggest strength too. Jake’s ability to balance all his raw creative power together with how personable he was, as demonstrated by the outpouring of love for him, made him nothing short of incredible…

‘What really gets to me today is how he’d just begun channeling his energy into a plan to bring it to the world properly, a plan I was proud to help formulate with him as a friend…

‘And one I believe would have set him on the way to delivering everything he wanted to, which was only ever to make his daughter proud…

‘Jake was a fiercely loving and dedicated dad – his daughter was his entire world and as a father myself, the fact they’ve been separated too early is devastating…

‘If there’s a message I think Jake would want to leave behind, it would be this: in a world that constantly tells us we should be in a box, or stay in a lane we didn’t choose, find a place you belong and are accepted for everything you are, even if that’s just within you’.
