Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor allegedly kicked his dog in the head and no one intervened, according to a royal author. The former Duke of York’s conduct has been the topic of numerous debates over the years.

A royal author recently shed light on an alleged incident involving Andrew and his dog, as well as Prince Philip’s response. Andrew Lownie appeared on the latest episode of Palace Confidential and claimed the incident occurred at Sandringham during a barbecue when Andrew was in his 20s.

Mr Lownie stated: “The story came to me from a member, a very close friend of the Royal Family. And he was shocked to see Andrew kick the head of his dog, Andrew’s dog, because I think he grabbed a sausage roll or something. And no one said anything at the time. And this man felt he had to say something.”, reports the Express.

The author revealed that the man “reprimanded” Andrew and told him to “get lost”. Mr Lownie then disclosed the late Duke of Edinburgh’s reaction that evening.

He said: “That evening, as they were having drinks and dinner, Prince Philip came up to him and said, thank you, ‘that needed to be said, and I’m glad you said it’. But the question, I think, is why didn’t Prince Philip say it? Was he worried about embarrassing Andrew in front of this person?”

Author Tom Bower previously discussed Andrew’s behaviour. He told the Daily Expresso: “In my book, I’ve got a story which hasn’t been picked up, but I think it’s actually indicative of Andrew. He was in Warsaw as a trade representative and was addressing a bunch of British businessmen at a large lunch.

“And the deputy ambassador came in to tell him that he was urgently wanted on the phone. Now, the deputy ambassador had a club foot, which was very noticeable. He had a huge physical deformity.

“And Andrew screamed across the room at him, What the f*** are you cripple doing coming to interrupt me? I mean, that was unbelievable.

“And that is the way that Andrew behaved. A really shocking, shocking, selfish, stupid man.”
