Is it sex, money or fame that’s driving your ambition? Take this quiz to find out. A study of 2,000 adults revealed the top aspirations for Brits include globetrotting (34%), penning a book (19%) or even becoming an influencer (9%). Other popular ambitions include launching a business (17%), running a marathon (11%) and even making an appearance in a film (6%).
According to the study, commissioned by Naked Smoothies, nearly half of participants (47%) said personal fulfilment was the primary motivator behind their ambitions, followed by increasing their income (37%) and breaking free from the nine-to-five grind (17%).
Liz Ashdown, a spokesperson for a smoothie brand with protein-based variations, said: “Most people are far more ambitious than they admit, often keeping their biggest goals and aspirations to themselves.
“Our research shows that fear of judgement and fear of failure continue to hold people back, even when the motivation to achieve more is there. Adding an everyday, simple boost can help support you whilst you strive for more.”

Meanwhile 28% said a financial safety net would help them the most when it came to pursuing their biggest ambition, followed by more confidence (17%) and time (15%)
However, 51% of Gen Zers they worry people would laugh at them if an ambition they pursued didn’t work out, according to data from OnePoll.com. This was also the case for 41% of Millennials, 31% of Generation X and 18% of Boomers.
Liz added: “It’s interesting to see how younger people, particularly those actively striving towards personal and professional goals, are more likely to feel the pressure of judgement and fear of failure.
“Meanwhile, older generations tend to place greater value on balance and wellbeing alongside ambition. Having the energy, confidence and motivation to pursue them is what helps turn ambition into action.”
