A glamorous prison officer accused of having an ‘inappropriate relationship’ with an inmate at high-security jail has appeared in court. Michelle Molver, 30, who works as HMP Belmarsh’s dedicated Prison Employment Lead, appeared on bail at Bromley Magistrates’ Court earlier this week.

Her job involves assisting prisoners in securing permanent employment upon their release. Dressed in a black leather jacket, black leggings and Dr Martens boots, she only spoke to confirm her name, age and new address during the brief hearing.

Molver, from Arneways Avenue, Chadwell Heath, is charged with misconduct in public office between August 1 and September 5 of last year. She is alleged to have had an inappropriate relationship with Kemai Mathurine, an inmate at the prison.

The court did not hear any specific details about the alleged relationship and Molver was released on bail to appear at Woolwich Magistrates’ Court on June 8.

In addition to her work, she also dedicates time to The Churchill Fellowship, focusing on prisoner rehabilitation.

Molver is the former company director of the now-dissolved Road to Rehabilitation Ltd and a current director of Grass Root Homes Ltd. Molver has also been involved with The Churchill Fellowship, which focuses on rehabilitation projects linked to prisoners and reducing reoffending.

In an online profile, Molver states: “My role is to support prisoners into employment on release and ultimately to reduce their likelihood of reoffending.
