CASTLE STUART (2.55, nap) can stand tall and spring a surprise on day three of the Dante meeting at York.
Richard and Peter Fahey’s four-year-old is largely unfancied at 14-1 in the Support Macmillan Charity Raceday on 13 June Handicap.
But he posted his best effort to date on the Knavesmire at last August’s Ebor meeting when chinned by Dain Ma Nut In.
He ran well on several other occasions in 2025 and showed his wellbeing with a promising return at Doncaster in March when a staying-on sixth.
Castle Stuart is handicapped to go well and he is a tasty each-way bet.
SYNCHRONICITY (2.20, nb) is a sister to the brilliant Ombudsman and she might be very talented herself judged on her smooth debut success at Newbury in a race that has already produced a glut of winners.
She is stepped up into Listed company in a very warm renewal of the Sky Bet Fillies’ Stakes but gets the vote ahead of So Regal and Lilt.
PRINCESSE D’ORANGE (3.30) was one of the easiest juvenile winners so far this season with a silky performance at Beverley.
David O’Meara’s filly is drawn on the flank in the Design Tonic Out Of This World Spaces At The Races Marygate Fillies’ Stakes, which is not ideal, but the speedy two-year-old can take this en route to Ascot.
AMILOC (4.05, trb) had an excellent three-year-old campaign which included victory at Royal Ascot and a fourth at the Breeders’ Cup.
He tackles the Boodles Yorkshire Cup and should take a seat at the top table this season in either staying events or middle distance races – and today could tell us which way he goes.
The final ITV race at York can go to desert treasure (4.40) who is unbeaten and from the William Haggas yard who cannot stop having winners at present.
The ITV cameras are also at Newbury for the Titan Wealth Handicap with the vote going to ALCARATH (2.40) who should take a step forward from an encouraging return at Newmarket.
Look out for a couple of unraced juveniles at Newmarket who could make their mark. Both MRAIR (1.22) and MIRZIMAAN (3.07) are said to have been working well and should be noted in the betting.
THUNDERSTORM KATIE (5.30) was going on strongly at the finish when last seen and can win the first at Hamilton while SANAFI JABEEL (7.50) can give trainer Jim Goldie (above) a double.
